Here is another wine from a business trip dinner! I was in the mood for something light and this German Riesling jumped out at me from the menu. It is no secret that I love a good German Riesling, and this certainly fit the bill!
I had never heard of The Seeker line of wines before, but their concept seems really neat! They search out small family wineries and label them for importing. They currently have 9 different varietals from Chardonnay to Rosé to Malbec.
Winemaker Notes:
“Steep vineyard sites in Trittenheim and Piesport feature fine, mineral-rich slate soil and optimal exposure to sun and wind, giving the wine its distinctive, classic and world-renowned flavors. The vineyards are 100% hand-harvested to ensure top-quality grape selection. Traditional winemaking methods are observed, with individual wine-pressing techniques passed down through generations.”
~ The Seeker Wines
Wine Notes:
- Alcohol: 11.7%
- Varietal/Blend: 100% Riesling
- Fermenting/Aging: stainless steel & old oak casks
Tasting Notes:
This off-dry Riesling has a pleasant balance of sweetness and acidity. Aromas of citrus, lemon, and stone fruits. Very smooth on the palate with flavors of green apple, peach, and a pineapple finish.
This German Riesling would pair amazingly with some spicy Asian or Indian food. Or it would also go well with the clean freshness of sushi or a lovely summer salad.
This is certainly a wine, and a brand, that I’ll look out for in the future. And in the under $20 a bottle price point, there is a lot of value there!
Bouns! The labels are beautiful and creative. So why not pick this up as a hostess gift for a summer party? Just don’t forget to get one for yourself too!
