While not my normal $25 or less bottle, I was tempted to try this wine while in my local wine shop. Another guest had ordered a taste and was raving about how amazing the Silver Ghost Cabernet. I just could not resist!
I was not at all disappointed! Silver Ghost Cabernet runs about $35 a bottle, but tastes like a much more expensive wine...

That makes it perfect for gifting. And it's also is totally worth snatching up a few bottles if you see it one sale!
Winemaker Notes:
~Silver Ghost Wines
Wine Notes:
- Winery: Montagu Wines
- Alcohol: 14.5%
- Varietal/Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes:
Deep purple - nearly opaque with full body. Black cherry and vanilla are prominent on the nose. Incredibly smooth and balanced tannins with a slight, pleasant acidity and has a long, lingering finish
I can not say how much I was really impressed with this Silver Ghost Cabernet. The complexity and integration of all the flavors into something so smooth is just special.
I was also pleasantly surprised to find that we had a bottle in our cellar at home!! I promptly moved it to the "save for something nice" shelves (vs. the "drink whenever you want" shelves).
This wine would pair well with beef, as most cabs do. But also with dishes rich in earthy flavors - mushrooms, roasted veggies, etc. It also would sand up well next to a salty cheese and some olives on a cheese board
