On a recent trip to Santa Barbara, we took my brother and his wife to a Sommelier tasting at Fess Parker Winery & Vineyards. It was a treat to discover Rodney's Vineyard Syrah - a complex and well balanced wine with great aging potential.
The Sommelier Curated Tasting Experience was really something special.

Though the wines we started with were the classic selections, as we discussed our likes, dislikes, and areas we hope to learn more Dana, our guide for this adventure, would pull out something different to try. Or she would suggest tasting one of the cheeses before a particular wine. We really had a tasty, educational time!

- Winery: Fess Parker
- Alcohol: 14.5%
- Varietal/Blend: 100% Syrah
- Fermenting/Aging: 20 months in 100% French oak (52% new)
Tasting Notes:
Full-bodied, complex with a ruby color and light pink rim. Sweet aromas of blackberry and plum. Balanced layers of flavor cherry, anise, chocolate, vanilla - each sip offering something new. Long, mouth-watering finish.
