I absolutely love Spanish wines. I’m sure this will be the first of many in Wine Down Wednesday posts to come. I find the balance of fruit, tannins, and acidity quite pallet pleasing with most Tempranillo blends.

- Varietal/Blend: 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, 5% Mazuelo
- Fermenting/Aging: fermented in stainless steel & aged a minimum of 24 months in oak
Tasting Notes:
Ruby color with a slight brown rim. Very smooth with balanced tannins. Berry aromas on the nose with hints of vanilla and coconut. Long finish with toast and caramel flavors.
I’ve often seen this bottle in various shops, big box wine stores, even bulk clubs like Sam’s club and passed it over. I wish I’d tried it sooner! It’s got great flavor and balance for a relatively inexpensive wine.
This would be nicely paired with red meat from the grill. It did pair well with some strong cheeses like blue cheese and sharp cheddar on the evening we were sampling it.
